Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nadia or locally known as JNV Kalyani is a boarding, co-educational school in Kalyani, Nadia district of West Bengal state in India.[1] It is under Patna region of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. One of 661 JNV's known for its academics, spread all over India by the Government of India.[2] It won first prize in the 24th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022-23.[3][4][5]
History
The School's foundation stone was laid down in 4 December 2003 by Honorable Shri Surjya Kanta Mishra, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Govt. of West Bengal.[6] The school campus covers around 15 acres of plain land with its buildings connected by approach road linked to Barrackpore-Kalyani Expressway.
Admission
Admission to JNV Kalyani at class VI level is made through selection test conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Smiti. The information about test is disseminated and advertised in the district by the office of Nadia District Magistrate (Collector), who is also the chairperson of Vidyalya Management Committee.
Affiliations
JNV Kalyani is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education with affiliation number 2440005, following the curriculum prescribed by CBSE.[7]
