Gornal (Russian: Горналь) is a village in western Russia, in Sudzansky District of Kursk Oblast.[1][2][3]
The village is located on the river Psel, not far from the Russian-Ukrainian border, 102 kilometres (63 mi) southwest of Kursk, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the district centre of Sudzha.

Roman Starovoit, the governor of the Russia's Kursk region, said the village of Gornal, Sudzhansky district, was shelled "from the Ukrainian side" with one person killed.

"This afternoon, the village of Gornal in the Sudzhansky district was shelled from the direction of Ukraine," Kursk region Governor Roman Starovoit said in a video posted on the messaging app Telegram. // "A woman was killed by shrapnel," Starovoit added without identifying the victim by name.
