The German Institute for Japanese Studies (DIJ Tokyo) is a German government-funded research institute based in Tokyo, focused on the study of modern Japan in a global context.[1] The director is Franz Waldenberger (since 2014).
History
The DIJ was founded in 1988. Since 2002 it has been part of the Max Weber Foundation.
