Drumsite is a settlement administrated as part of the village of Flying Fish Cove on Christmas Island, Australia. It is located on the northeastern coast of the island. The ethnic composition of the population of Drumsite is Chinese and European. The area is in the path of the migration routes of Christmas Island red crabs.[1]
The Drumsite Village project, a new housing development, was approved by the Gillard administration amid concerns about the growing number of asylum seekers on the island, and is administered by a Queensland company.[2]
Two historic sites within the settlement, Bungalow 702 and the Drumsite Industrial Area, are listed on the Australian Commonwealth Heritage List.[3][4]
