Significance

Kabulengwa Hill is not only a geographical feature but also a cultural and social symbol for the people of Nansansa. It is a place where locals gather for community events and traditional ceremonies. The hill also contributes to the local ecosystem, providing a habitat for various species of flora and fauna. The hill can be accessed via local roads leading from the center of Nansansa. Water and electricity supply

There are issues that affect the supply of water and electricity around Kabulengwa Hill. The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has been working on projects to enhance water supply in the greater Kampala metropolitan area, including areas like Kabulengwa[5]. They have embarked on plans to boost water supply reliability along Hoima road under their ‘Water for All’ programme[4]. This includes the construction of a 500,000 litres capacity water reservoir on top of Kabulengwa hill and a water pumping station to improve water supply reliability to Nansana, Kabulengwa, Kyebando, Naluvule, Wakiso, and the surrounding areas[6]

There have been suggestions to explore alternative power supply sources to complement conventional electricity, which would guarantee a 100% water supply reliability for NWSC’s Water Treatment Plants.[3]. The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda has assured support for NWSC’s request for additional funding to complete essential water distribution projects, particularly for reservoirs and pipelines in areas like Kabulengwa[4]
