Erin Camille Johnston is an American lawyer from Washington, D.C. who is a nominee to serve as a judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Education

Johnston received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003 and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 2007.[1]

Career

Johnston began began her legal career with Kirkland & Ellis as a litigation associate in 2007, becoming a litigation income partner in 2013, and was elevated to equity partnership in 2018.[1]

Nomination to D.C. superior court

On November 15, 2023, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Johnston to serve as a judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. On November 27, 2023, her nomination was sent to the Senate. President Biden nominated Johnston to the seat vacated by Judge Peter A. Krauthamer, who retired on June 30, 2023.[2] Her nomination is pending before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.[3]
