Articles relating to the Nine Years' War (1593–1603), fought between an Irish alliance—led mainly by Hugh O'Neill of Tyrone and Hugh Roe O'Donnell of Tyrconnell—against the Tudor conquest of Ireland. It was also a response to the ongoing religious persecution of the Catholic Church in Ireland and sought political independence of Ireland under the High Kingship of Archduke Albert VII of the House of Habsburg.
