The day to day administration of Middlesex County Cricket Club has handled by the chief executive since 1999. Traditionally, it was an honorary position usually held by a distinguished player. Arthur Flower became the first professional secretary in 1964 and Vinny Codrington became the club's first chief executive in 1999 (following two years as secretary). This officer is the most senior employee within the County Club.
