Captrust is an American investment advisory company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. As of July 2022[update], it had roughly $100 billion of assets under management and $750 billion of assets under advisement.[1]
As of July 2023[update], it employed around 1,300 people and had acquired 69 companies since 2006.[2] In 2020, private equity firm GTCR purchased 25% of the company at a price implying a total value of $1.25 billion.[3]
Captrust originated in the 1990s within Interstate/Johnson Lane as a Fielding Miller and David Perkins project. In 2002, Wachovia, which had acquired Interstate/Johnson Lane, spun it out.[4]
