Vidya Niketan Birla Public School Pilani is a boarding school in India. Shishu Mandir, which was later rechristened as Vidya Niketan (popularly known as Birla Public School) was founded by the Birla Educational Trust in 1944 under the guidance of Dr. Maria Montessori, the world famous pioneer in child education. The institution remained a day school until 1948. By 1952, the school was changed into a purely Residential Institution. In 1953, the school was granted the membership of the Indian Public School Conference. Birla Public School recently conducted their 79th annual day followed by the VINOBA (Vinian Old Boys Association) meet. The school has appointed Mr. S.N.Tyagi as the Dean of Pastoral Care, Mr. Manoranjan Kumar as the Academic Coordinator, Mr. S.K. Baral as the Headmaster.
