Babarud (Persian: بابارود)[a] is a village in Torkaman Rural District of the Central District of Urmia County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran.
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 615 in 125 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 647 people in 164 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 634 people in 181 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
