This is a report of activities of Wiki Project Med Foundation for 2024. It is not a complete list of everything we have done this year but represents a highlight of our work. The compiling of this report — like much that we do — has been a group effort, and we encourage involvement by further individuals within the wider membership.
Projects and activities
MDWiki
NC Commons
Consensus was achieved on AF WP to move forward with further use of NC Commons.[1]
Bot built to automatically import images from NCCommons to AF WP when an image is called but a user.[2]
Offline
Apps
In partnership with Kiwix, we launched a new version for iPhone.[3]
Internet-in-a-Box
Working on distribution via the Wikipedia Store.
Translation
- A video with ProZ[4]
- Presented at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey on April 16th, 24
VideoWiki
VideoWiki is live again.
OurWorldinData
Launched a gadget that brings OWID into Wikipedia.[5]
Worked on security concerns with the WMF.[6] This included meeting with WMF staff.
Outreach
- Tim presented about IIAB at the Electronic Literature Organization (Un)conference: Access Works!
- Meet with members of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Jan 29, 2024.
- Working to collaborate with CHEO and the U of T Biomedical Communications program.
Other
- We provided financial support to certain members to attend Wikimania in Poland. For a draft of the application process WPM:Scholarships for Wikimania
- Our work was highlighted by the WMF in their annual report.[7][8]

The Board recognizes that financial needs may fluctuate throughout the fiscal year. Any changes of up to 10% to individual budget line items may be approved by the WPM:Grant Oversight Committee. Any changes over 10%, however, must be approved by the Board. Grant contact person at the WMF is Chris Schilling.
