Nicolai Budkov Kjær (born 1 September 2006) is a Norwegian tennis player.
Budkov Kjær has a career high ATP singles ranking of 748 achieved on 27 May 2024.
In March 2024, Budkov Kjær won his first ITF title, which would subsequently lead him to make his debut in the top 1000 of the ATP rankings with a ranking of 897.[1] Being the first Norwegian to do so since Casper Ruud in 2016.
Budkov Kjær represents Norway at the Davis Cup where he has a W/L record of 1–2. He mad his debut in September 2023 against Peru.[2]
At Junior level, Budkov Kjær reached number 3 in the rankings on the ITF Junior Circuit. [3] He also performed Norway's best ever result at a junior grand slam in singles with a semifinal at the 2024 Australian Open.[4] In doubles he won the 2024 French Open alongside Joel Schwärzler. [5]
