English: The "West Seal", a large, bronze reproduction of the Great Seal of Ohio embedded in a granite plaza at the foot of the steps leading to the Ohio Statehouse's west entrance. [1] The state motto, "With God, all things are possible", adorns the seal. Plans for this installation triggered a 1997 federal lawsuit, American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio and The Rev. Matthew Peterson v. Capitol Square Review & Advisory Board, that was decided in favor of the state. This display was installed in September 1998.
