Summary

Description
English: A vehicle traveling on a floating ice cover, e.g. an ice road, may induce 'waves' in the ice cover, depending on ice thickness, traveling velocity and water depth. Here, a scale of vertical displacement is included which is based on satellite observations [Source: Fig. 11 of Babaei, H., van der Sanden, J., Short, N. and Barrette, P., 2016, Lake ice cover deflection induced by moving vehicles: Comparing theoretical results with satellite observations, Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), Toronto]. The scale does not apply to the ice thickness, which is for illustrative purposes only.
