Description
Nederlands: Jodenvervolging, Tweede Wereldoorlog, WO II, februari 1941. Razzia op Joden. Geknielde Joden worden onder schot gehouden door de Grüne Polizei op het Jonas Daniël Meijerplein in Amsterdam. De man met zijn handen omhoog net rechts van het midden van de foto is Meier Vieijra, een van de 427 joodse mannen die op 22 en 23 februari 1941 werden opgepakt. De tweede jongen op de foto is volgens schrijver Maurice Ferares de op dat moment 21-jarige Emile Kets de Vries. Via interneringskamp Schoorl werden de mannen naar Duitse concentratiekampen gevoerd waar vrijwel niemand overleefde. De foto werd na de Tweede Wereldoorlog hét icoon van de Jodenvervolging in Nederland en de Februaristaking.
