DescriptionPolitburo Decree Transferring Five East Asian (Chinese) NKVD Agents to Xinjiang in 1935 from Eastern Siberia.jpg
English: Most of the five if not all had gone to school in Moscow at KUTV (Toilers/Workers of the East University) or KUTK (Moscow Sun Yat-sen University). They and the several other agents listed in Tepliakov's monograph Stalin's Guardsmen (Oprichniki Stalina) had participated in Operation Maki Mirage as part of the INO, Transbaikal NKVD. This is a different group from those listed as INO, DVK (Far Eastern- referring to the Russian Far East) NKVD. These five worked in the Transbaikal NKVD only until 1935. This information helps to confirm the number of around 1200 total East Asians in Soviet intelligence participating in Maki Mirage from 1920 to 1945.
