Summary
DescriptionNorthern Amami Oshima linguistic sameness.svg
English: A linguistic map of the northern portion of Amami Ōshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Each orange area indicates where people think the same language as theirs is spoken.
Data source: Shibata Takeshi 柴田武, Sanada Shinji 真田信治, Shimono Masaaki 下野雅昭 and Sawaki Motoei 沢木幹栄 (1984) (in japanese) Amami Ōshima no kotoba 奄美大島のことば, pp. 53–55
Note: I (Nanshu) omitted the southern portion of Amami Ōshima, which was also covered by Shibata et al. (1984). As sameness groups were intricately-intertwined in the south, the original work used two maps to show the south.
