Summary

Description
English: Periodic table showing which metals are implicated in metal allergies. Original caption from source paper:

Figure 1.

Metals implicated in allergic reactions. Metallic elements related to allergic reactions are highlighted in this periodic table of the elements (blue boxes, without lanthanides and actinides). Most of the metal allergens belong to the group of heavy metals (blue background) and some are (likely) essential trace elements (light green letters) [6,10]. Non-metallic elements are depicted in grey letters. This review focuses on general adverse and immunotoxic effects of nickel (Ni, Ni2+ ions), cobalt (Co, Co2+ ions) and palladium (Pd, Pd2+ ions) (highlighted in red) [6]. Created with BioRender.com.
