Summary

Description
English: Museum specimen of Marjolin's' ulcer on the sole of a foot. This 49 year old man had his right foot crushed by a log at the age of 17 years. Amputation was advised then, but refused and the foot eventually healed after 18 months of dressings. Four years ago an ulcer appeared in the scar on the sole of the foot, and progressively enlarged. It was never painful. Biopsy showed a well differentiated squamous carcinoma. Lymph nodes in the groin were also biopsied, these showed reactive changes only.
