Français : Le Christ est en croix, à qui l'ont tend l'éponge et entouré des deux larrons. A ses pieds, des soldats, Pilate et le grand prêtre à cheval sont tournés vers lui. Un groupe de soldats jouent aux dés le manteau du Christ en bas à droite. En bas à gauche, la Vierge est effondrée dans les bras de saint Jean. |

Français : Ancien livre d'heures commandé par Étienne Chevalier, trésorier du roi Charles VII. Démembré et les miniatures découpées au début du XVIIIe siècle puis montées sur une planchette de bois par un menuisier encadreur parisien vers 1790. Propriété de Georg Brentano puis acquis auprès de son fils par Henri d'Orléans, duc d'Aumale en 1891. Donné à l'Institut de France. |
