English: The Norddeutscher Lloyd liner Kaiser Wilhelm II, which at the time of its maiden voyage from Bremerhaven to New York in april of 1903 was one of the largest express steamers in the world (20,000 tons gross; 620 crew; accommodation for 1,887 passengers; speed over 23 knots). In the year 1904 the ship won the “Blue Riband” for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic ocean.
