Monument of king Erekle II by Merab Merabishvili
He was married three times; first, he married in 1738 Princess Ketevan née Orbeliani (died 1750), but divorced her in 1744. Next year, Erekle remarried Princess Anna née Abashidze (1730-1749). After her death, the king married Darejan née Dadiani (Daria; July 20, 1738-November 8, 1807). Erekle fathered thirteen sons and ten daughters.
