This economic map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Coffee Imported per Country in 2005(USDA).svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
Summary
DescriptionCoffee Imported per Country in 2005(USDA).png |
This map shows coffee imports, by country, for selected countries. Figures are in thousands of metric tonnes. Note that some countries re-export a large percentage of the coffee they import. This map shows only how much coffee is imported into certain countries, not how much of it is consumed therein. SourcesData for this map come primarily from the USDA PDF. This pdf lists the number of 60kg sacks of coffee certain countries imported in 2005. The USDA did not supply figures for the United States -- these come from the "monthly data" reports of the International Coffee Organization, [1] and (here), respectively. The reports cover June 2005 - May 2006 (13 months) and thus slightly inflate U.S. Coffee import figures. The ICO also supplies data for countries also included in the USDA report; I chose to compare both organizations' totals. They were slightly different. Note on CalculationsHere follows an example of how figures from the USDA's statistics were converted:
92,280,000kg = 92,280 metric tonnes. Map Creation |
