Nederlands: Staatsiezetel van een chief met ceremoniële en rituele betekenis.
De zetel staat op vier poten en één holle zuil in het midden. De ziel van de gebruiker wordt geacht zich in die holle middenpoot te nestelen. Na de dood van een waardigheidsbekleder wordt zijn laatste zetel opgeborgen in de tempel der zetels, waar reeds die van zijn voorgangers worden bewaard. De zetels in de tempel worden door een ambtsdrager verzorgd, evenals de altaren. Deze eredienst, waarvan de vorst de uitvoerder is, wordt geacht de continuiteit van het gezag te waarborgen. Volgens Frobenius is de zetel met vijf zuilen een oeroud motief uit de cosmologie van het atlantisch-Algeïsche bekken en zou het een representatie zijn van de wereldberg met vier steunende zuilen waarop de hemel rust. Informatie H. Leyten: De vier zuilen zijn de vier windrichtingen, de middenzuil is de basis, de aarde. Deze zuil heeft een holte vanonderen, dit betekend dat het een ceremoniële zetel is. Hetzelfde geldt voor zetel 5066-1. De zetel wordt tijdens een ritueel, geleid door een 'priester', de gebruiker eigen gemaakt. Hiertoe wordt ook een offer gebracht. Het ritueel zorgt ervoor dat de ziel, de kracht, van de eigenaar in de zetel terecht komt. Vanaf dan mag er niemand anders meer op de zetel plaatsnemen. |
