My wife was complaining about green stuff coming from her nose. Being the wise and loving husband that I am, I knew exactly what to do; I had her blow some of it into a Petri dish, so that I could culture it out and have something interesting to put under my microscope.
Much to my surprise, I got very little bacterial growth in this dish, but a fair amount of mold. I seem to have at least three different, distinct varieties of mold growing in this dish. This image is from one of the mold patches that grew in this dish.
This picture was taken using my 5× objective and my 15× eyepiece. Each numbered tick on the scale is 230 µM.
